Oshima Trench Coat

SHIRO

SHIRO

Shiro-oshima Island

Shiro-Oshima is characterized by the use of white clay rich in kaolin, which is also used to make white porcelain, and other dyes to dye silk thread.

When you look closely at the platinum-like luster and the intricate rubbed patterns that are unique to Oshima Tsumugi, you can see the handiwork that pursues beauty .

By selecting old pieces with ikat in a single color as much as possible, we aimed to create a high-quality piece that allows you to enjoy the original, noble ikat pattern of Shiro-Oshima.

The Shiro-Oshima we are looking for is particularly rare, so we have deliberately incorporated vintage marks into the fabric.

We believe that one of the great attractions of AITTA is that it allows customers to feel the breath and activities of the people who lived during the time when the fabrics were made .

It uses fabric from five kimonos from different eras.

In addition to the different antique French buttons, the back flap is decorated with a “back protector.”

Glass buttons from the Meiji period are decorated with "eggshell" designs by lacquer artist Michiko Oikawa, who lives in Sendai, in order to create a back look that is appropriate for a fabric that allows no compromise in any aspect.
