Oshima Trench Coat
DORO-AI
DORO-AI
Doro-ai
Oshima is woven with silk yarns pre-dyed with plant indigo and then dyed with mud, resulting in a deep indigo color and a unique black color.
The turtle shell pattern, a standard for men's Oshima, shows its denseness by the number of turtle shells in relation to the width of the fabric.
In addition to the surface luster and the sound of the garment's rubbing, the precious status of “wearing the background and technique” of the textile is one of the few things among the myriad of garments that can be worn.
In honor of this top-quality textile, we will use it as it is, with the aging that only decades of time can produce.
And we have attached a special button to this DORO-AI as a back protection.
We adopted an old Japanese coin from 1915 (Taisho 4), which is said to have introduced the name “trench coat” to the world, by processing it into a concho.
Five kimono fabrics with five different patterns are used.
The lining is a “mulberry leaf dyed” body lining.
