It is said to have been born by accident in the course of history, or by bloody research.
Amami Oshima Island in present-day Kagoshima Prefecture is the birthplace of this traditional craft, and the techniques and thoughts that have been handed down only there are still in existence.
Among them, the old mud Oshima has a softness, and its delicacy was a symbol of “admiration” even though it consists only of a tortoiseshell pattern.
We find “unique sexiness” in the aging and damage of this precious mud-dyeing as a vintage mark and create it.
Five kimono fabrics with five different patterns are used.
The “mulberry leaf dyed” body lining is a gem that enhances the mud brown.
